Jason L. Wyatt, Esquire

Associate Attorney

The newest attorney at Novy & Associates, Jason L. Wyatt joined the firm in April 2011. Good natured and empathetic, he relates easily to clients of all ages and backgrounds, assisting them with a variety of Elder Law needs, including: Estate Planning, Estate Settlement, Estate Litigation, Asset Protection, Disability Protection, Medicaid Planning, Guardianships, Real Estate, and in-depth tax matters, including those related to trusts and estates.

Previously, Mr. Wyatt was an associate at Mantell & Prince, P.C., New Providence, N.J., where he concentrated on estate planning, and estate and trust taxation.

Mr. Wyatt received his B.A. cum laude from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., with a double major in English and American Studies. He was awarded his J.D. in 2005 from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Columbus, Ohio, where he received the CALI Award for Excellence in Business Transactions.

In May 2010, Mr. Wyatt earned an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in taxation, an internationally recognized postgraduate law degree indicating specialized legal training. His intimate knowledge of federal and state tax laws—which seem to change minute by minute—makes him very popular among our clients who are coping with estate- and inheritance-tax issues. He is also a published author in and past editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Wyatt is active in alumni affairs for Far Hills Country Day School, Far Hills, N.J., and the Delbarton School, Morristown, N.J., his high school alma mater. A professional singer between the ages of 9 and 14, he sang for the Metropolitan Opera Company’s Children’s Chorus at Lincoln Center in Manhattan and claims he can still carry a decent tune. He is also an avid golfer with a handicap that has been known to swing from eight to 14 and back. In addition, Mr. Wyatt is an expert skier and enjoys home beer brewing, writing poetry, and following his favorite collegiate and professional sports teams.
